It’s Easter Sunday and we all know what that means, food. Lots and lots of food!
So what are we going to do? – Hide our weighing scales or take mental snapshots of all the food we aren’t going to be chomping down cause of our strict diets!
Well, here are some healthy eating tips by which we won’t have to be guilty standing over our weighing scales tomorrow morning!
1) Chocolate Eggs and those evil Easter Bunnies will have their time!
Yes yes, we are all lured and drawn towards the cutely shaped easter bunnies and easter eggs that are all over the place! So much that we just want to bite them as soon as we get them in our hands! However when you take away the disguises, it is JUST CHOCOLATE and no matter what shape or form in comes in, it will add to your cumulative calorie intake for the day! Snacking on easter eggs and bunnies throughout the day will only result in binge eating and on accumulation will significantly increase the calories consumed for the day!
The Escape – Only eat them for desert! This will take a lot of self control but on the long run self control will help you consume in limited amounts and save some for days well after easter!
2) Prepare a variety of healthy dishes!
Preparing a feast of healthy dishes is a great way to add variety in our consumption throughout the day! Eating healthy dishes will get our tummies full so that we don’t have to always resort to nibbling on chocolate easter bunnies and easter eggs to fill us up! It will also give you the opportunity to perhaps try on some new recipes or perfect the ones that you got wrong last year.
Including fruits and vegetable salads to meals will balance out diets and nourish us with vitamins and minerals! Natural juices and Chocolate Milk are also a great sources to keep full and increase vitamin intake throughout the day. Consuming chocolate milk will not just add proteins, minerals and vitamins our consumption but will also help control chocolate cravings!
3) The good ol’ outdoors
Easter’s are great for spending family time at home but, do you know whats better? Taking yourself and the family out to parks, visiting new places, malls or any place that gets the body moving! Involving yourself in sports, going for a run or a trip to the gym will not just distract you from binge eating of chocolate bunnies but will also regulate and maintain your calorie intake throughout the day!
Incorporating activities that get your body moving will act as a balancing mechanism for the chocolate you have eaten throughout the day and will get you feeling healthy by the end of the day!
